Man charged over  imitation firearm

A man has appeared in court charged with possession of an imitation firearm.

Tudor Gheorghiu, 26, of Waverley Avenue, Sandy attended a preliminary hearing at Bedford Magistrates Court on Wednesday (February 20).

He was bailed to appear again at Luton Crown Court on April 5.

Mr Gheorghiu was arrested after being pulled over by police in New Road, Beeston on Tuesday afternoon (February 19).

He was interviewed and charged shortly afterwards.

UK law makes it illegal to carry an imitation firearm or air weapon without good reason.
