Man cut free from car

A man had to be cut from his car after a collision in the erly hours of Saturday.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called just after midnight to a car which came off the road on Bedford Road near Northill.

Firefighters from Kempston, Potton and Sandy, supported by the Special Rescue Unit from Kempston had to stablise the car before using cutting eqipment to free a man.

The man, in his 40s, was treated at the scene by Magpas.

Doctor Steve Corry-Bass and Paramedic Chris Hawkins for a head injury.

They administered IV fluid and pain relief while he was being freed from the vehicle before he was taken by land ambulance to Bedford Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
