Man hospitalised after fight

Two men in their twenties ended up in the river at the Mill Lane recreation ground in Biggleswade after a confrontation last Wednesday (April 6).

A member of the public intervened after the fight started at around 6.30pm, but by this point both men were in the river and had suffered head injuries.

One was taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage where he received 15 stitches.

Investigating officer Vicki Gibson from the serious crime investigation team wants to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.

She said: “Both these men suffered some nasty injuries and we are keen to establish exactly what went on in the park and why.

“Among those who may be able to help are those who may have been out walking their dog, playing with their children or simply taking an evening stroll after work.”
