Management cuts in council offices

IN a further attempt to cut costs, Central Bedfordshire Council has announced its decision reduce its senior management.

This will effect such areas as finance, human resources and policy. It will save £200,000 each year.

The structural changes follow an earlier senior management review that led to a 26 per cent reduction in spending.

Councillor James Jamieson, leader of the council, said that the change was part of a “relentless focus on efficiency.”
