More homes for Sandy

COMMUTERS will welcome new houses that are to be built next to a railway station.

Central Bedfordshire Council has granted planning permission for 36 homes to built on land to the west of Station Road in Sandy. These will be in the form of terraced and semi-detached houses.

The site has been vacant for several years but previously housed a warehouse and distribution centre.

DLP Planning advised Coleman Properties on the redevelopment of the site. DLP’s planning managing director, Simon James, said: “We are delighted to have been granted planning permission for these much needed homes in Sandy.

“The development provides the opportunity for a high quality scheme to deliver homes which utilise local materials and vernacular to ensure it will contribute to the character of the town.”
