Throughout April the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit will run a THINK! motorcycle operation.

Motorcyclists are one of the most vulnerable road users and it is vital that motorists remain alert when driving.

Inspector Mark Rogers, from the road policing unit, said: “Although motorcyclists are responsible for their own safety we can only reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries if other motorists play their part.

“Unfortunately motorcyclists remain extremely vulnerable road users and it is vital that motorists remain alert and aware of who they are sharing the road with. This is particularly important when approaching bends and junctions.

“We will be targeting those riders and drivers whose poor driving puts them and others at risk throughout April.”

To reduce the risk of being involved in a collision with a motorcyclist always look properly, take time, THINK bike, don’t get distracted and stay alert.
