Mountainous trek is superb for wellbeing

A CASUAL walker has set himself a mountainous walking challenge in the name of charity.

61-year-old Tony Wilson will be trekking in Mount Toubkal, part of the Atlas mountain range in Morocco.

He hopes to raise £1,200 for Climb Your Mountain (CYM), a charity that promotes the benefits of exercise for mental health through physical activity sessions.

Tony, who lives in Kittiwake Close in Biggleswade, said: “The charity has a range of challenges and treks – this one was different.

“They range from Kilimanjaro to China and this one was a little shorter than the others, hence I thought for a first trek this is more in my reach.”

He is looking forward to the trek, which will take place from Wednesday, August 3 to Monday, August 8, and particularly to getting to know the other walkers properly.

Tony needs another £600 to reach his fundraising target. To donate visit his webpage at www.justgiving.com/Tony-Wilson49
