MP Burt welcomes energy firm pledge

North-East Beds MP Alistair Burt has welcomed government proposals to tackle expensive energy bills and tariffs.

This week the government announced plans to force energy suppliers to offer customers their best deals.

They will also be obliged to reduce the number of tariffs on offer and make bills simpler for customers to understand.

Mr Burt said: “This action shows that the government is serious about helping people with the cost of living.

“Households across Bedfordshire will welcome this move to get their energy bills down. This action will really help with family budgets.”
