Music showcase helps cancer charity
On Saturday, September 5, 15 local bands will be showcasing their talent at the High Street pub from 1pm and admission is free.
The pub has been fundraising for CLIC Sargent for four years now, to coincide with the efforts of a young local girl who takes on the Virgin London Marathon each year. Her grandad fundraised for Sargent Cancer Care for Children- one of the two charities that merged in 2005 to form CLIC Sargent. They raised a whopping £5,000 altogether last year- £730 coming from this music festival.

They have raised and continue to raise a huge amount to help with the work that we do. Without these generous companies and individuals, we would not be able to strive to meet our aim of reaching every child and young person affected by cancer. We currently reach two out of three, but let’s make it three out of three. So head down to the event on September 5 - get involved in the fun yourself, all the while raising awareness and funds for such a great cause.”
