Hazel Clarke, a co-ordinator in Beauty at the College’s Welwyn Garden City Campus, is one of only five people to be shortlisted for the Educator of the Year category of the Scratch Stars Awards.

She said: “It was such a surprise to find out I had made the shortlist. I am very passionate about my work, sharing my knowledge and experience with my students, so I’m very proud to have made it into the final five.”

Hazel will find out if she has won at a glamorous ceremony party in London in June.

Tina Kemp, Oaklands’ Head of Beauty, said: “We are all over the moon for Hazel for this well-deserved nomination.

“These are the only awards dedicated to UK’s nail industry so to make it onto the shortlist is a great achievement for Hazel.”

The awards are presented by Scratch magazine, the UK’s leading nail magazine, and are the only awards in the UK that recognise the dedication of technicians, salon owners and companies in the nail industry.
