New hoist for hospice after club’s swimming event

STAFF at a hospice have a new hoist that they can use for moving patients, thanks to a Rotary club’s fundraising event.

The new hoist was presented to workers at Sue Ryder Care at St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger by representatives from the Rotary Club of Bedford. The hospice used some of the £7,500 that was donated from the club following its Rotary Swimathon last year.

The annual Swimathon sees members of the club and other volunteers raising money for a wide variety of different charities and good causes around Bedfordshire. This year’s event will be taking place at the Bedford School pool on November 19.
