New lick of paint for club

The Biggleswade Rugby Squash Club has been given a bright new look thanks to Dulux Decorator Centres.

The main hall, rugby corridor, changing rooms and bar area at the Osprey Road club – which had not been redecorated for more than a decade – now have a fresh lick of paint.

Dulux Decorator Centres made the paint donation as part of the firm’s Colouring the Community Scheme after club member Graham Place contacted the firm.

Colouring the Community aims to help community groups and charities to restore their premises and surrounding areas.

The club is run entirely by volunteers and provides a venue for rugby teams of all ages as well as facilities for squash games and community activities including dance classes and a pigeon racing club.

Graham selected Dulux Trade paint in shades of red, blue, green and magnolia to brighten up the ageing hall and changing facilities.

Volunteers from the club and from Biggleswade rolled up their sleeves to help repaint the venue.

Graham said: “We are extremely grateful to Dulux Decorator Centres for the generous paint donation.

“We had great fun painting the club and the transformation has been incredible.

“The premises are now bright, modern, and much more inviting to new and existing members.

“We are sure that people from the area will enjoy attending the club to participate in team sports and all the other activities available, and that people will also find the facilities more attractive to hire out for family celebrations, such as christenings and birthdays.”
