New pavilion has now been opened

A NEW pavilion has been opened after eight years of fundraising.

The building was opened at Roxton Park on Sunday, September 4 by the landowner, Simon Bath.

There have been various fundraising events such as race nights and quizzes. There were also grants from local and national organisations.

Many local residents and members of Roxton Cricket Club attended despite the rain, though the cricket tournament had to be postponed in light of the weather.

Peter Grimes, chairman of Roxton Parish Council, thanked Simon for granting a 99 year lease on the playing fields to the parish council and for performing the ceremony.
