No plans for a hosepipe ban

THERE are no plans for a hosepipe ban in Central Bedfordshire this summer despite the ongoing drought, Anglian Water has confirmed.

Defra and the Environment Agency have declared much of the East Anglian region as being officially in a state of drought, but the water company claims customers will not be affected.

Anglian Water spokesman Antony Innes said: “We will not be restricting the use of water with hosepipe bans this summer, regardless of the declaration of a state of drought in our region.

“Our reservoirs and ground water stores are where we would expect them to be for this time of year.”
