The hard working group of volunteers was shocked when they heard from a local pharmacy that a couple of patients had cancelled their inoculation bookings because they were unable to travel.

The team is now determined to let Arlesey residents know that they can offer lifts to vaccination centres and medical/hospital appointments, providing that car windows are wound down and masks are worn. (However, residents must not be displaying symptoms of Covid-19.)

“We don’t want people missing their vaccination appointments. If you’re in danger of doing that, please give us a call!”

AGN was established during March 2020 in response to the pandemic, and also offers a shopping service, prescription collections and a telephone befriending service.

Chris says the group has been an “eye opener” as you never know what’s going on behind closed doors and who may be struggling, and he urges people to reach out for help.

If no-one answers, you will receive a call back.
