Fairfield's Remembrance Service will be held in Urban Park on Sunday (November 13) at 3pm.

Fairfield Scout Group will march from the former chapel to the Urban Park where they will present their colours. A "magnificent carpet of poppies" crocheted and knitted by the Fairfield WI Craft group during the past year will be on display.

A Fairfield Parish Council spokesman said: “It will be a standard service but with an accent on youth involvement and diversity. There will two readings, one by a young girl scout, and the other, a young male from the Fairfield Sikh community. I understand that they both may also have younger members to lay a wreath on their behalf. All are welcome to attend.”

There will be a cash collection for the Royal British Legion and the parish council will offer poppies for people to lay.
