Ollie Bond, 24, has released a new single called Ready, a tale of love that is sure to charm readers with its indie-folk vibes and soft vocals.

Despite not being able to tour yet, Ollie is making the best of a bad situation, and has been busy writing and recording in 2020.

Ollie said: “Ready is a song about forgiveness and starting afresh, and opening yourself to be loved and to love again.

“It’s a song about a couple that have rekindled a flame that had been going out for a while.

“I started writing the song and just focussed on the idea of a couple laying in the same place they had on their first date and counting imaginary stars on their ceiling.”

The news comes just two months after Ollie released the single Emilia, which was loosely based around his experiences of being separated from his partner during the pandemic.

Previously, Ollie has been lucky enough to reach the finals of national music competition ‘OpenMic UK’ at the O2, London, and over the last few years, he’s also been nominated three times for an NMG award including ‘Best Acoustic Act’ and ‘Best Male Artist’.

He added: “This is a much more positive, warming, autumnal song and I’m really quite proud of this.

“It was a lot of fun to produce, with the track including everything from banjos and slide-guitar, to tape-hiss.”

Ollie’s singles Safe With Me, When I Went Away and Emilia also received praise from Hot Music Live and Reignland magazine, as well as gaining attention from BBC Introducing in Coventry and Warwickshire, and Mahogany Sessions.

He now hopes he can plan some tour dates as soon as it is safe to do so.

Encouraging readers to escape outdoors this winter, Ollie added: “I bring melancholic acoustic music inspired by autumn walks and solo camping in the wilderness to your ears.

“It’s to be listened to through headphones in the corner of your favourite coffee shop, on road trips through the mountains, or out under the stars.”
