Police appeal for information on stolen swings

Police are seeking information about the theft of children’s swings from a playground in Roxton.

The incident took place overnight on September 23.

Gary Maxey, the investigating officer, said: “On the night of 23-24 September the thieves removed the chain from the park gates and drove to the playground area where they ripped up the safety netting surrounding the swings.

“They then sawed through the four legs of the wooden swing, put this into their vehicle and drove off with them.

“As you can imagine this is a heartless crime that has left the children of the village without their play equipment.”

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the thieves during the evening of Tuesday, September 23 to contact them.
