The event, on Thursday, December 4, will take place at a pop-up police pod in the High Street from 10am to 2pm.

It will be attended by police staff volunteers who will give residents advice and information about crime prevention, Smart Water marking and Neighbourhood Watch schemes.

Home visits will also take place in the village, offering advice about crime prevention and the Good Neighbours Scheme, which provides support for elderly, disabled and isolated residents.

The event forms part of Operation Vision, a countywide initiative from Central Beds Council’s Community Safety team and Bedfordshire Police that connects directly with residents to try and find solutions to community issues, as well as offering advice and crime prevention information.

Councillor Brian Spurr, Executive Member for Community Services, said: “This session will give residents the opportunity to find out more about protecting their property and have their voices heard by speaking directly to the police about what really matters to them.

“During winter, when the days get shorter, your home and property become more vulnerable.

“It is important that we are all working together as a community to identify solutions and keep the local area safe.”
