Hallam Land Management’s Land North of Biggleswade public exhibition postponed

The exhibition was due to take place on Wednesday, March 18, at Biggleswade United Football Club from 3.30 pm until 7.30pm.
Speaking about the cancellation, a spokesman from Hallam Land Management said:“Given the current situation regarding coronavirus, we believe it is sensible to cancel the exhibition that was due to take place on March 18.

Hide Ad“We’re committed to consulting with people about the Development Brief and people can still view the brief online .
“Comments can be submitted via email until such further notice. We’re considering carefully the best way forward for the consultation and will update people as soon as possible about next steps.”
Writing on social media in response to the announcement, Biggleswade Town Councillor Mark Knight, said: “I look forward to learning how Hallam intends to mount an effective and thorough consultation with all members of our community during these unprecedented times.”
However, a presentation at the town council is currently due to take place.

Hide AdCentral Bedfordshire Councillor Dr Hayley Whitaker announced on her Facebook page: “On Tuesday, March 24, at 7pm (corrected date due to wrong agenda online) there will be a presentation by Mark Hyde, partner with Carter Jonas, on the Development Brief for the proposed Hallam development on Land North of Biggleswade.
“Members of the public are welcome to attend and will be able to ask questions in the public session at the start of the meeting [at Biggleswade Town Council].”
However, Cllr Whitaker advises that people should check it is going ahead before they attend due to the ever-changing circumstances caused by the Coronavirus crisis.
On December 24, Hallam Land Management submitted an outline planning application to Central Bedfordshire Council, which proposed up to 416 dwellings on the land, including affordable housing, green infrastructure, accommodating landscaping, allotments, a community orchard, public open space, a children’s playspace, new roads, car parking, cycleways, footways, and associated infrastructure.
Vehicular access would be secured from Furzenhall Road.
