Potton couple’s happy years

Arthur and Violet Utting have lived in The Paddocks, Potton for more than 30 years and their family travelled across the country to join them for the occasion.

Arthur, 92, said: “We have two children, a son and a daughter, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. They were all there at the reception in the Old Coach House in Potton.”

“I’d said that we didn’t want presents but they bought us a new television. That was lovely and just right with the switchover.”

The pair first met at a reception and dance for Whitsun in Arthur’s local village hall at Newborough. They were married in St Mark’s Church in Peterborough on March 16 and took their honeymoon in Great Yarmouth, where Arthur was born.
