Presidential visit for the Rotakids

Youngsters from a Rotakids club hosted a fundraising fun day for members, parents and villagers.

The Rotakids club at Cople Lower School raised £131 at the event and organised the publicity, entertainment and refreshments themselves, with some teacher supervision.

The eight and nine-year-olds will donate the money to the Canine Partners charity.

They could also meet Nan McCreadie, the president of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland who was visiting the area.

A spokesman for the club said: “She was very impressed with what she saw and gave them a purple space hopper that links with the Rotary campaign to eradicate polio globally.

“They were challenged to give it a name!”
