Youngsters at a school had a whale of a time at their fair.

Lawnside Lower School’s staff and pupils held their summer fair on Saturday, raising an impressive £1,900 in profit.

Head Darren Smith said: “It was fantastic to see so many people from the school community and beyond supporting our event. Our PTA committee did an amazing job of organising everything and an army of parents and staff turned out on the day to run the stalls and games.

“Also, we were blessed with the weather, meaning that myself and Miss Hull, one of our teachers, were the only people there to get wet as we were the unfortunate souls in the stocks! I’d like to thank everyone who supported our fun day and made it the success it was!’’
