Recognised for life-saving aid

A SELFLESS first aid volunteer has been recognised for his life-saving work with St John Ambulance.

Henlow resident, Peter Coulson, is part of the charity’s Ampthill and Flitwick division.

He officially became a member of the prestigious Order of St John at a special ceremony in London on April 14.

People can only become members of the Order of St John if they have shown exceptional service to its key foundations – one of which is St John Ambulance, the nation’s leading first aid charity.

Peter said: “This recognition is very special indeed and I am very humbled by this award.”

He has been a member of St John Ambulance since 1977, holding a variety of roles within divisions and county,

He was welcomed to the order alongside fellow volunteer, Lisa Degnan.
