It might be tempting to just throw it all in the black bin, but nearly all of it can be sorted and recycled.

Any extra waste can be disposed of at the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Biggleswade.

A revised bin collection timetable will continue until January 5. In case of severe weather disrupting these arrangements, residents should leave their bins on their property boundary and collections will resume as soon as is possible.

Email updates will be sent out if bins cannot be collected, along with information on the council’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. You can sign up to the updates at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/updates

Real Christmas trees can be recycled alongside garden waste on regular collection days during January or taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre. Please ensure segments are no taller than 5ft and have trunks no greater than three inches in diameter.

You can also recycle wrapping paper, Christmas cards, and crackers in your kerbside recycling scheme. For more information on waste disposal visit www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/environment/recycling-rubbish-and-waste/default.aspx
