Remember our brave war heroes

Remembrance Sunday is a time for us to pay tribute to all those who have laid down their lives for their country.

This year Armistice Day, November 11, falls on Sunday. A ceremony will be held at the war memorial in Biggleswade Market Square at 10.45am.

In Sandy the Remembrance Parade will gather at Allison House at Swan Lane at 10.30am. There will be a short service at the war memorial in Bedford Road and then the parade will continue to St Swithun’s Church in the High Street. The church service will begin at 11.30am.

Potton’s service will be held in the market square at 10.15am. It will be conducted by the Churches Together Movement. This will be followed by a walk to the war memorial at Potton Cemetery in Sandy Road for an act of remembrance at 11am.

In Shefford there will be a service at 10.40am by the war memorial.

In Stotfold there will be a two minute silence at the Co-op store at 11am. There will be wreath laying at the cemetery in Mill Lane at 2.45pm and a parade to St Mary’s Church for a service at 3.30pm.
