Lisa, of Ibbett Lane in Potton, said: “Zumbini is a brilliant new class. It’s unique in the fact that the parent or carer actively participates with the baby or toddler and it’s a real bonding experience for them to do together.

“It’s trying to get people fit and healthy. All the songs and music have been written by Zumba; it’s world music.

“The children can express themselves in different ways whilst learning through play.”

Zumbini is not as energetic as adult Zumba but it is fun for both the child and parent alike. It was launched in America in the autumn and it arrived in the UK in January, so Lisa is one of the first instructors in the country.

She added: “It’s fantastic for babies as well if you hold your baby close to you and they feel the rhythm and the beat. It’s a great way to pass on Zumba, which is an amazing company that’s worldwide and that’s changed people’s lives.

“There’s a social side as well for mums that have had babies. They can meet other mums.”

Classes will run each week for 10 weeks from Tuesday, April 29 at Gamlingay Eco Hub and from Wednesday, April 30 at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Biggleswade. Both classes are from 9.30am to 10.15am.

There are spaces on free taster sessions on Tuesday, April 1 at Gamlingay Eco Hub at 9.30am and 11.30am, and at the Biggleswade venue at 11.30am and 1pm the next day.

Lisa is also demonstrating Zumbini at playgroups and nurseries around the area.
