Roald Dahl books spark creativity

Roald Dahl’s stories were the theme of a museum visit.

After dressing up as the author’s characters and raising money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity in the autumn term Roecroft Lower School won a visit from staff at Roald Dahl’s museum.

They started the day on Thursday, March 7 by making masks and hats with a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme. These included Oompa Loompa masks, sweet masks, Willy Wonka’s factory hats and Violet Beauregarde masks.

Afterwards they watch two short plays; Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood from Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes.

In the afternoon the children paraded the hats and masks around the hall. The visitors judged them and gave the winner from each class a free family ticket to the museum.
