Rubbish idea for the town

COUNCILLORS are urging people to keep their town clean.

Stotfold Town Council led a Big Tidy Up day on Saturday, July 9 with staff, councillors and residents all joining in. Forty six people, including 15 youngsters from the 1st Stotfold Scout Group, helped with the litter pick around the town.

Mayor Brian Collier said: “This clean up has shown others that we care about the future of our environment and the area in which we live, work and play, and that we will not tolerate litter on our streets.”

Seventeen bags of rubbish were collected and aluminium drinks cans were sent to the Genesis Research Trust for its fundraising appeal.
