Run away with the circus as a clown

HAVE you always dreamed of running away with the circus? Well now is your chance!

John Lawson’s Circus is returning to Upper Caldecote and while the circus is in town it will be auditioning budding clowns.

The show’s star clowns, Kakehole and Popol, recently announced that they are leaving the circus at the end of the current season so a vacancy arose for anyone with a knack for throwing a custard pie. The circus is holding auditions for anyone over 16.

Any potential candidates will be invited to appear in one of the performances in Upper Caldecote alongside the Deltai Troupe, who somersault through the air to land on a four inch bar and high flying trapeze daredevil, Angelo.

When the circus finishes its tour in October the best applicants from around the UK will be offered contracts to star in next year’s show.

The circus will be performing at G&M Growers in Upper Caldecote from Wednesday (October 5) to Sunday, October 9. Performances are at 4.30pm and 7.30pm on weekdays, at 2pm and 5pm on the Saturday and at 2pm on the Sunday.

Tickets cost £8 or £6 on the first day. To book tickets or to enquire about a clown audition call the ticket office on 07860 498833.
