Sexual assault in Shefford

Police are urging people to be vigilant when out and about after a woman was sexually assaulted in Shefford last weekend.

The victim was grabbed and assaulted as she walked along Hitchin Road between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday, April 25.

The offender is believed to be white, in his late-30s, with a beard and was wearing a hooded top.

Detective Constable Amanda Durrant said: “We urge anyone who saw this incident or has any information that could help us with our investigation to come forward.

“We would remind people to be vigilant when out walking after dark and keep to well-lit or well-populated areas.”
