Shop closed after flooding

Bridge Farm Shop, which is on the A603 close to Sandy, has had to close for the day (Friday).

The adjacent ditch that connects to the River Ivel has burst its banks following the ongoing heavy rain.

The water flowed into the shop yesterday evening (Thursday, May 3) to a depth of about 5cm.

Fortunately the owners, John and Carolyn Glenn, were able to raise the stock to a higher level so that it was not damaged by the water.

The store will reopen tomorrow or as soon as is possible.
