Silent cubs are on the money

Quiet cubs managed to raise almost £400 for charity by completing a sponsored silence.

Members of the Mars Cubs in Biggleswade raised the cash for Cancer Research UK and the WWF.

Akela Brian Maskell said: “For one hour you could hear a pin drop, except from the leaders who were as noisy as ever!

“Any questions that the cubs had were asked by writing them down, with no speaking allowed. Thank-you to the cubs for a job well done.”

Alison Crichton-Smith, manager at the Cancer Research shop in Biggleswade visited the cubs to collect a cheque for £192, which was raised for each charity.
