The group will travel to the German town located in the district of Bad Kreuznach on Tuesday, October 25 and will stay until the following Sunday.

Dave Thompson, who sings in the bass section of the St Mary’s Singers and is also the publicity officer, said: “As well as the twinning link between the two towns we also have an ongoing friendship between choirs in Potton and Langenlonsheim.

“Every three years one of the choirs will visit the other one, and this year we will be performing at a mass on the Saturday afternoon and at a concert in the evening.

“Prior to that we will be doing some sightseeing and also some wine-tasting – the town is situated in Rhineland-Palatinate where a lot of the vineyards are so it’s always good for wine. We will certainly be bringing some back with us!”

To mark the 25th anniversary of the twinning link the Langenlonsheim council has organised a special anniversary celebration which residents from the two towns will attend.
