The trek is in Alesjaure, Swedish Lapland, 200km north of the Arctic Circle. It is a 42km cross-country ski trek where we will face everything the arctic winter can throw at us. Covering this distance, at this time of year, will be a massive physical challenge.

Charity: Walk the Walk.

Why have you chosen this charity?: Walk the Walk is a charity that supports breast cancer causes. They support essential research projects and also support women living with breast cancer right now. We have previously been involved with Walk the Walk for its London Moonwalk and have been so inspired by their work that we have signed up to a much bigger challenge.

It’s a subject very close to our hearts having witnessed our mother battle breast cancer and win, but sadly watched our auntie lose the fight.

Financial target: £10,000.

How are you preparing?: Training for the Arctic Marathon is mainly lots of power walking and lots of upper body strengthening.
