Snug and warm thanks to spare coats

KINDHEARTED individuals have helped to spread the warmth this winter by donating spare coats.

20 of the garments were collected from the Sandy Town Council offices on Monday evening. The coats have gone to ITV Daybreak and The Salvation Army’s Donate a Coat appeal to help the needy during the cold winter months.

Town councillor Julia Smyth, whose parents used to volunteer for The Salvation Army, encouraged everyone at the council offices to donate their unwanted coats. Members of the public also contributed.
