Some classic costumes!

SWORDS and sandals were the focus for pupils at a lower school when some Romans paid a visit.

The team from Bedford Museum spent the day at Moggerhanger Lower School and brought traditional Roman costumes with them so youngsters could see how people from the time dressed.

Moggerhanger Lower School headteacher Paul Marshall said: “We were delighted that the Bedford Museum staff could spend some time with us – it is not always easy for them to find the time for school visits so it was a special day for the pupils.

“The children in the elephant class were quite inspired by the visit and they enjoyed trying on the costumes and learning more about the Romans and how they lived.

“The Romans formed an important part of the children’s studies last term and this visit helped to bring it all to life for the class.”
