South Hill Rise support The Alarm

The Biggleswade based band were supporting The Alarm on Friday evening.

They arrived at the Islington venue shortly after 4pm, in time to watch The Alarm do their sound check, set up their instruments and do their own sound check.

At 7pm Alex Pittkin, Tom Pitman, Louis Field, Mitchell Field and Rosie Swain went on stage, opening with Sum 41’s In Too Deep.

South Hill Rise continued with a half hour set list including All Time Low’s Dear Maria and Fall Out Boy’s A Little Less Sixteen Candles. Their final songs were Free Rock and Roll, the piece which earned them the support slot through the ReverbNation competition, and Rockin’ in the Free World by Neil Young.

John Field, father of band members Louis and Mitchell, said: “The half hour support slot was over all too quickly and the band left the stage to the applause and cheers of some 200 plus Alarm fans.

“Once back in their dressing room South Hill Rise had the pleasure of meeting The Alarm before they took to the stage at 8pm.

“For a young band doing only their second ever gig, this was a massive opportunity and one they’ll remember for a lifetime.”
