Spate of burglaries across the county
In the past two weeks there have been five incidents in Biggleswade, three in Sandy and two each in Shefford and Stotfold. Arlesey, Flitwick, Haynes and Potton have also been affected.
Community Policing PS Gary Kidd said: “It is unusual to have so many burglaries in such a short space of time across these areas so we are alerting the public to take extra precautions.

“Residents should ensure their cash, jewellery and other valuables like laptops and game consoles are locked up securely.”
He added: “We know burglars like familiar properties and will often return to a burgled property within a fortnight of the original offence once stolen property has been replaced, and, if that property is now secure, will simply burgle a neighbouring property instead.
“So if your neighbour has been burgled there is a possibility that you might be a victim yourself.”
