This week regional and national media were camped in Chronicle Country, approaching Mr Holmes’ family at their house in Birch Grove, while TV crews filmed the scene where the altercation took place.

The exact nature of the dispute has not been established.

It is known that the two men were waiting in the disabled parking area and got into a disagreement about parking.

The other man then punched Mr Holmes, knocking him to the ground.

The 65-year-old was later arrested and released on police bail until August 19 pending further enquiries.
