Swap your shovels!

Is your rake rusted? Shovel out of shape?

The Frosts Garden Centre Tool Swap is back from Sunday, February 1 February to Saturday, February 28. Bring your old or unused tools to the Willington centre to be donated to local homeless charity, Hope Enterprises. Everyone who donates a tool will receive a 20 per cent off voucher to replace it.

Hope Enterprises will put all donated tools to good use as part of its Hope Tools garden tool refurbishment enterprise to provide skills and funds for homeless people.

The Hope Tools business teaches those the charity supports to refurbish second hand tools so that they can be sold to raise valuable funds. The project also helps people to gain self-esteem and gives them a sense of personal achievement.

Susan Jones, Enterprise Director at Hope Enterprises CIC said: “We’re delighted to be working with Frosts Garden Centres for this month’s Tool Swap. Any old tools donated will be thoroughly refurbished through Hope’s back-to-work programmes and offer our clients valuable work experience. It’s a marvellous chance to use old garden tools to help others – and an innovative way for a company like Frosts to support our charity and social enterprise!”

James Frost, Managing Director at Frosts, said: “The Hope Tools project is a fantastic scheme. It is a pleasure to be able to contribute to Hope Enterprises and all that they do for the homeless. A lot of people have old or unused garden tools and this is a worthy cause which can put them to real use. Clearing out the shed and revitalising your tool kit is also a great way to get excited about gardening again.”

The voucher is valid for the whole of February and can be used on tools from the fantastic Wilkinson Sword, Wolf Tools, Moulton Mill, Burgon & Ball and Gardener’s Mate ranges at Frosts.
