The Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society was among five groups selected for the award from over 300 nominated by members of the public. The award is given to those who made a difference to the lives of others, or whose work has benefited their community. The SVAS’ objectives are to educate the public in the science, practice and history of aviation and motoring by supporting the charitable work of the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden.

This award is the highest for groups of volunteers.
