Town team met with enthusiasm

The town team, organised by Andy Maycock of The Music Room and Phillip Wingfield of Mama’s Coffee Shop and supported by Sandy Town Council, has been started with the aim of rejuvenating the town.

Around 40 people attended the meeting on Thursday, February 23, representing local businesses and organisations and attending as individuals.

The team will be taking Mary Portas’ review about rejuvenating high streets across the country as a basis for its work.

The team will now bid for Sandy to become one of 12 Portas Pilot towns, which would bring large financial benefits.
