Tuddenham Mill head chef Lee Bye has joined the elite list by winning the Acorn Award.

Each year the awards recognise 30 rising stars from every sector of the UK’s hospitality industry. Every applicant has to be under 30 and nominated by their peers for demonstrating exceptional skills and accomplishments in their field. Previous Acorn Award winners include Marco Pierre White and Marcus Wareing.

The award was presented by The Caterer magazine’s editor Amanda Afiya in a ceremony at Chewton Glen hotel in Hampshire.

Lee, a regular food writer for the Bury Free Press whose passion is using Suffolk produce, said: “It is an unbelievable moment in my career to be recognised by the leaders of this amazing industry and have my name listed alongside such talented and inspirational personalities.

“My aim is to continue nurturing the team and building the business and reputation here at Tuddenham Mill.”
