Video: Piano time for retiring landlady

A pub landlady is retiring after running pubs in a town for a quarter of a century.

Claire Norman has been at the Queen’s Head in Sandy for 19 years and she previously ran the Lord Nelson pub, now the Sir William Peel, alongside her husband for six years.

Explaining why she likes the job, Claire said: “There are always interesting people. You get people that you see everyday who you get to know quite well and other people that are passing through.”

Claire thanks everyone for their support and hopes to spend more time playing the piano, sewing and sketching.

She will be succeeded by town councillor Sharon Walsh, who has been working in the pub. Claire leaves on May 29.
