VIDEO: The Flying Scotsman returns to Biggleswade and Sandy after 10 year restoration this week

The legendary steam locomotive The Flying Scotsman will pass through Biggleswade and Sandy this week following 10 years of renovation.

The locomotive will be touring the country and will pass through the town on its inaugural run on Thursday, February 25, on its journey from London to York.

The outward journey from London Kings Cross leaves at 7:40am, arriving at York at approximately 12:30pm, meaning the famous engine should be in Biggleswade at around 8.15-8.30am.

It will pass through again on June 18 on its way back to London, after making its way from King’s Cross, through Biggleswade, Sandy, Peterborough, then Spalding, Sleaford, Lincoln, Gainsborough and Grantham, before returning along the East Coast main line.

Restoration of the locomotive started in 2004 at the National Railway Museum in York, when it was bought for the nation.
