Water damage closes library

Shefford Library has been closed until further notice due to serious water damage that took place at the end of last week.

Cllr Brian Spurr at Central Beds Council said: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and we’re working as hard as we possibly can to get everything back to normal.

“As soon as we have any more information about how long the library might be closed, we’ll post updates on our Facebook and twitter pages (www.facebook.com/letstalkcentral and www.twitter.com/letstalkcentral and on our website at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/libraries.”

Customers can renew their books online, or borrow and take books back to any library in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough. The loan period has been extended for an additional three weeks but you can return your borrowed items to Morrisons Supermarket behind the library, as they have kindly agreed to house one of the Drop Boxes in their store Please don’t try to return any items to Shefford Library via the letter box drop box, as this is has now been disabled.
