Watery fun at the Langford Raft Race

FROM Scooby Doo to The Flintstones, it was a truly wacky sight for those on the riverbank.

Ten rafts hit the river to compete in Langford’s annual fancy dress raft race on Saturday (June 2).

Steve Hills, who is one of the organisers, said: “The raft race was really good and we raised £1,185, which will be distributed shortly to the children’s organisations in the village.

“It was absolutely chock-a-block on the riverbank, on the bridge and through the common.”

The race was won by the speedy Noddy team. The Wacky Races entrants took the best dressed raft prize while the Magic Roundabout group took the best fancy dress award.
