Construction and infrastructure company Morgan Sindall has been appointed to extend and upgrade the school, constructing a new, two-storey classroom block, which will replace temporary classrooms.

The standalone building will feature eight modernised, bright and spacious classrooms. The project team will also install photovoltaic panels on the building’s roof so that solar energy can be stored and converted into electricity, reducing the school’s carbon emissions.

Adrian Rodgers, head teacher said: “Robert Bloomfield are really excited about the new classroom block.

“It will be a brilliant base for our Year 5 pupils and will provide wonderful facilities for the children.”

Building will be completed in August 2015, ready for pupils and teachers to move in at the start of the new Academic Year 2015/16.

The school will stay open while the works are being carried out. The works will be fenced off, with the project team and sub-contractors using a different entrance to the main school.

Deliveries will also be timed in order to minimise disruption to staff, parents and pupils.
