Your group could grab a slice of carnival cash pot

The town’s carnival collects thousands of pounds at all its events in the summer, including the grand parade of floats where generous onlookers fill the buckets of walkers as they take part in the colourful parade.

And now it is looking to give away some of that money in grants to local worthy causes.

The carnival committee will consider all applications at a special meeting.

Community organisations and charities are welcome to apply. Priority is always given to groups based in the Biggleswade area.

Special consideration will be given to those whose groups have supported, or been involved in, this year’s carnival events.

Applications should be made in writing, setting out information about your group and the reasons why you think you should be considered for a grant.

Applications must be received no later than Friday, October 17.
